Turner Construction: A Partnership in Resiliency
May 23, 2023 — A team of 13 Turner Construction staff volunteers spent the day at FrontLine Service to convert an old records room into a resiliency space for FrontLine staff. Every May, Turner Construction supports local partners in honor of its Founders’ Day of Service.
“Being able to serve 20,000 individuals who may be homeless or have mental [health] needs is significant,” said Sheena Fain, Community & Citizenship Manager for Turner Construction. Sheena added that Turner Construction chose to support FrontLine Service because it perfectly aligns with the company’s mission and values.
The resiliency room will provide a place for FrontLine staff to decompress from the intensive work they do. This work includes answering Cuyahoga County's 24/7 suicide prevention hotline, supporting families who have lost a loved one to homicide, and helping individuals experiencing severe mental health issues and homelessness find stability.
“Staff resiliency is fundamental to providing effective services, especially for those who have experienced extensive trauma, such as homelessness,” said Angela Glassco, Chief Operating Officer at FrontLine Service.
In a single day, Turner Construction’s team of professionals made this resiliency room possible.
Volunteers took apart cubicles, painted the room, and delivered furniture that Turner Construction had arranged to be donated. The company also donated hygiene kits for FrontLine staff to distribute to people experiencing homelessness.
FrontLine Service is grateful for the Turner Construction staff’s time and skills to create a space that will benefit our dedicated staff for years to come.
