Meg Testa,MD, DFAPA

Medical Director

Dr. Meg Testa serves as FrontLine’s Medical Director, where she serves as a provider of psychiatric care to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, addictions, and criminal justice involvement. She has worked with FrontLine Service since 2014.

Meg is an Assistant Professor at University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, where she teaches and supervises psychiatric residents and fellows in forensic and community psychiatry.  She is the medical director for the Cuyahoga County Diversion Center, a novel detox, crisis stabilization, and police drop-off center in Cleveland, created to help individuals with mental illness and addiction avoid arrest and incarceration.  She provides forensic consultation at Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare and the Cleveland Municipal Court Psychiatric Clinic.   

Meg has a strong interest in health policy and is engaged in advocacy for health justice and criminal justice reform. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.  She is past-President of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association, and the Midwest Chapter of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.   

She is committed to advising on trauma-informed response to individuals in crisis.  She served on the Cleveland Community Police Commission and is a current member of Cleveland’s Mental Health Response Advocacy Committee. 

Meg graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2007 and completed a residency in psychiatry at University Hospitals of Cleveland in 2011, followed by Fellowships in Forensic Psychiatry (2012) and Community Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University (2013).
